2010 Gibbston Harvest Festival
The very successful fifth annual Gibbston Harvest Festival was held at Gibbston Valley Station on Saturday, 20 March. A fun, family day out celebrated the grape harvest in the Gibbston Valley. The action-packed event featured food and wine from local restaurants and wineries, master classes in wine and food appreciation, barrel-rolling races, bouncy castles and children’s activities.

The festival is a community-based social event, run by locals who are passionate about their wine industry and wish to share the joy of harvest with visitors. Each year, the proceeds from ticket sales are donated to a local charity, and this year the nominated charity was the Arrowtown Cubs and Scouts group to assist their fundraising to send children to the national jamboree. A grand total of $16,648 was raised this year – nearly 20 per cent more than the previous year! Next year, the festival will be held at Peregrine Winery on the third Saturday in March.
