The Kawarau River runs for 3km/1.9mi
alongside the station, and offers excellent trout fishing, and access to water sports, such as kayaking.

The wider region offers some of the
best fishing and sport and game hunting, including an internationally recognised
hunting station,
Glenroy Hunting Lodge.

Extensive trails, accessible by walking, mountain-biking, horseback or 4WD, will
also ensure guests experience
Gibbston Valley Station’s unique surroundings and diverse off-road terrain.
Gibbston Valley Station also forms part of a unique walking trail, running from the famous
AJ Hackett Bungy Bridge for 8km/5mi along the spectacular Kawaru River, and alongside the
Gibbston Valley Station golf course.

This protected community walkway
journeys through an area of historical
and environmental significance.
Gibbston Valley Station is at the centre of Central Otago, one of New Zealand’s best wine growing regions, with over 75 vineyards serving 177 wineries and 22 cellar door operations to sample. Guests will have full access to one of New Zealand’s most recognised, premier award-winning wineries,
Gibbston Valley Wines.

For the dedicated golfer, spectacular courses in the local area offer a range of playing experiences, including Millbrook, Kelvin Heights and The Hills, home of the New Zealand Open.

And with some of the world’s best ski fields, including Coronet Peak, Cardrona and Treble Cone within an hour of
Gibbston Valley Station, there’s plenty for ski and snowboarding enthusiasts.
